When COVID-19 struck, Sage & Petals was deemed non-essential and had to close its doors overnight. With fresh inventory lost and their busiest months — March, April, and May — completely wiped out, the shop faced mounting financial pressure. Like many seasonal businesses, the success of busier months is what sustains the slower ones. Without that cushion, survival became uncertain.

How the AHIG Grant Helped:
The American Heart Investment Group grant was more than financial support — it was a lifeline. It allowed Sage & Petals to cover essential expenses, including rent and bills, and begin replenishing their flower inventory in preparation for reopening.
